Ikon 1.6 Ambiente – Innovative performance

Fitted with 15-inch steel wheels and 195/55 R15 tyres, the Ikon 1.6 Ambiente is ready for the road. These tyres effectively grip the road, offering increased stability and traction.

Under the bonnet, you’ll find a four-cylinder DOHC (Dual Overhead Cam) 16-valve petrol engine, which is capable of producing 74kW of power at 6 500rpm and 143Nm of torque at 4 000rpm. In this innovative engine, the camshaft is situated within the cylinders, driving the valves in a more direct manner than in engines with overhead valves.

Equipped with a five-gear manual transmission, the Ikon 1.6 Ambiente offers excellent power delivery and is able to accelerate from 0 to 100km per hour in a measly 11.3 seconds. Furthermore, the 1.6 Ambiente has a top speed of 180km per hour.

Safety and security features of the Ikon Ambiente include: ABS (Anti-lock Brake System), EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution), airbags and remote central locking. While the Ikon is designed to be nimble on the road, owners can rest assured that in the event of a collision, the driver and passengers are protected.

Ikon 1.4 TDCi Ambiente – Fuel efficient and environmentally friendly

This 1399cc engine produces 50kW of power at 4 000 revs per minute and 160Nm of torque at 2 000 revs per minute. TDCi stands for Turbo Diesel Common rail direct injection and these engines are incredibly fuel efficient and release low amounts of emissions. Moreover, because fuel is used efficiently, owners will save a significant amount of money and simultaneously reduce the vehicle’s effect on the environment.

While the focus of the engine may be fuel efficiency, the Ikon 1.4 TDCi Ambiente is also a superior performer on the road. Drivers can accelerate from 0 to 100km per hour in 15.4 seconds and reach a top speed of up to 165 kilometres per hour

As with its petrol counterpart, the 1.4 Ambiente contains numerous luxury features that increase driving pleasure. These include an MP3-compatible CD front loader, air-conditioning and a “distance to empty” trip computer.

Ford Ikon 1.6 Trend – Increased luxury

Fitted with the same engine as the 1.6 Ambiente, the Ford Trend offers similar levels of power and performance. However, it’s in the additional luxury components where the Ford Ikon 1.6 Trend shines. Over and above standard inclusions such as air-conditioning, a sound system and charcoal interior trim, this car is also fitted with a rear centre armrest (complete with cup holders) and body colour mirrors.
