Ford Ranger single cab – Business as usual

The Ford Ranger single cab is an ideal purchase for businesses that need a heavy-duty vehicle for regular use. This single cab 4x4 is reliable and will help drivers to get their deliveries done on time and in perfect condition. Intelligently designed to optimal space, the Ranger single cab fits a driver and single passenger comfortably.

Because this Ford pickup is intended for regular hard work, buyers have a choice of three models with powerful engines, all capable of easily driving this vehicle – even when loaded to capacity. The six model types are:

2.2l 4x2 M/T base: this 2184cc four-cylinder engine produces 68kW at 4 500rpm and 163Nm of torque at 2 000rpm.

2.5D 4x2 M/T base: this rear-wheel drive vehicle is fitted with a diesel engine that produces 64kW and 174Nm of torque.

2.5TD 4x4 H/T M/T base: the 2.5TD 4x4 offers the same level of power as the 4x2 models with the same engine type. The primary difference is that this vehicle is an all-wheel drive instead of a rear-wheel drive.

2.5TD 4x4 H/T M/T base + ST: more luxurious than its non-ST counterpart, this model type is fitted with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) braking and airbags.

3.0TDCi 4x2 H/T M/T XLT: this Ford pickup is the most powerful single cab Ranger available with 115kW at 3 200rpm and 380Nm of torque at 1 800rpm.

Ford Ranger super cab – Spacious and practical

The Ford Ranger super cab offers significantly more storage space than the single cab version. Over and above the expansive cargo area at the rear of the vehicle, there is additional space behind the seats. Smaller cargo and luggage can fit into the cab along with the driver and passenger. This is particularly helpful for storing items that need to be accessed easily during the journey.

However, while impressive storage space is one of the biggest benefits of owning a Ranger super cab, its safety features are equally attractive. The exterior is specially designed with crumple zones that soften impact in the event of a head-on or side impact. Further security features in the super cab include supplementary-restraint system (SRS) airbags as well as front-side airbags, which cushion both the driver and passenger in the even of a collision. This Ford pickup is also fitted with ABS, which incorporates EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and G-sensor technology that assesses the vehicle’s speed and load to optimise braking.

The five-speed manual transmission allows for smooth gear changing and buyers have a choice of two engine types: 2.5TD and 3.0TDCi. These Ford trucks are available with either a 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrain, both of which are effective for driving in the city while the 4x4 drivetrain offers superior handling on dirt roads and uneven terrain.

Ranger double cab – Powerful workhorse

Fitted with an additional row of seating, the Ranger double cab is the largest vehicle in this Ford pickup range. Seating four people with ample head and legroom, these Ford trucks are ideal for deliveries that require more than two people or weekends away with your family or a group of friends.

Because this vehicle is significantly heavier than its smaller counterparts and can hold a greater weight, it’s available with a choice of powerful engine options. The 3.0-litre DURAtorque TDCi engine produces 115kW of power. The engine incorporates an innovative Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT), which uses an adjustable nozzle to control exhaust flow to promote optimal performance at all times.

Other notable features include the Ford pickup truck’s electromagnetic clutch, which allows drivers to change gear easily and smoothly. This is complemented by the double cab 4x4 vehicle’s triple cone synchronising feature, which decreases shift force and meshing time.
